(a coffeeTourist Travel Tale) When in Johannesburg for business, sometimes you want to be in a pace where it is quiet, hidden, has access to key spots like banking, shopping, and foodie places, yet still have ability to do business from the same.
I discovered a place like that in Benoni, South of Johannesburg, called Summer Garden Guesthouse.
Had just done an emergency trip from Lusaka to Johannesburg, as I had to meet up a new client for advertising and publicity work. For convenience I chose to stay near where his offices were, yet have access to the above holiday essentials – the Summer Garden was best suited for that.
Summer Garden, as the name says, is a luxurious 4-star Guest House surrounded by a dazzling tropical garden where you can spend your time relaxing. Summer Garden caters specifically for the business man / woman. They offer all business facilities, including typing, faxing, copying, wi-fi and e-mail facilities to ensure that you have a little more time to relax.
Summer Garden Guesthouse is 11 kilometres from OR Tambo International Airport, 11 kilometres from Emperor's Palace Casino and 8 kilometres from Carnival City Casino with easy access to all major routes as well as the Gautrain.
We have twelve fabulous rooms and can accommodate up to 26 guests (Log Cabin Rooms, Comfort Rooms, Luxury Rooms and a Family Room). The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with the emphasis on comfort. Feather and goose down duvets, feather pillows and hypoallergenic mattresses … all to spoil you rotten!
All their rooms are equipped with a sitting area, TV, DSTV, Wi-Fi, fully stocked bar fridge, coffee and tea facilities, hair dryer, safe, heaters and air conditioners in the Luxury rooms.
All rooms have their own private entrance for your convenience and brand en-suite bathrooms where you will find fluffy bath sheets, complementary amenities etc. King, Double, Single and Twin beds are available as well as a huge family room for four.
I stayed in the log cabins, and they were as advertised. They also had a garden table and chair set just outside that I chose to have my breakfast from, and my afternoon coffees. They serve a full English breakfast each morning which can be enjoyed in the beautiful dining room or outside in the garden as I did. Lunch and dinner are served on arrangement; I chose to eat out at a nearby shopping centre, littered with fine dinning and fast food outlets.
